Electrical switch 3 wires

Need Help. I had a dimmer on a kitchen light. I replaced the overhead light with a new fixture with the help of an electrician family member. Was told by the family member that I needed to replace the dimmer switch. When I removed the dimmer there was 3 wires in the switch. That is 3 black 3 white and 3 ground. How do I wire this switch to get power to the outlet and to the basement switch.

Electrical switch 3 wires

How were the wires connected together? There was probably only two of those wires connected to the dimmer. Those two wires connect to your new switch.
