Electrical problem

Hello I have a problem just realized that when I have something plugged into the ground of the outlet of any plugin. Itís not high voltage but you will get a painful zing when you touch the soil and the faucet. As well when plugging in a microwave or a saw, and turning one of them on the light dim very low and then get very bright brighter than before the saw or microwave is turned on. Any ideas are welcome thanks.

First of all you do have pretty much a major problem so whatever you do anything just stop and call the POCO out first to check their service due the netural is allready comperised and it is not safe at all so have POCO check their side first then once it verifed by POCO then I will suggest that you get ahold of electrician to come out and check the bonding / grounding system due you mention soil et faucet.

Just don't wait for convential time to call the POCO just use the emergecy POCO number and they will come out anytime and tell them you have broken netural conductor they will come out pretty fast.

Merci,
Marc

Not a lot to go on.
How old is the home?

"A painful zing" is nothing to be taken lightly. All it takes is to be well grounded one time and that painful zing will be the last thing you ever feel.

You have a dangerous situation. Call a professional electrician immediately. Do not play around with this.

Nuff said.

As Marc said, you have an open service neutral. Your entire grounding system (including plumbing and other metal in your home) is electrified to some degree and may be dangerous. This can very quickly destroy your appliances and possibly start fires, as well as electrocute you. Call the power company immediately. If they determine that the problem is not on their end, then you'll need to call an electrician to fix your equipment. This cannot wait. You need to deal with it immediately and really ought to turn off your main breaker until it's fixed.
