Electrical passing through exterior wall of house into attached garage

Need to run a new 20A circuit via 12/2g romex from my attic to my garage. I'll be using normal indoor NM-B. Garage is attached, however was built as an addition to the home. There's no direct doorway between the garage and house, if that matters.

The attic and garage walls overlap quite a bit.

If I want to run a cable through here, what do I need to do to be electrical code and fire code compliant?

I figure I'll have a junction box as soon as the cable gets in the garage, so it can split off the different directions that it needs to go. (It will come in the middle.)

I have fire rated caulk (4hrs) that I can seal with both sides - is that good enough? Or, do I need to do something else like have a special junction box?

I don't see anything wrong electrical wise, about filling the whole you drill, it will probably vary be area.
