There are two boxes in my garage which were installed by the previous owner, who was an electrician.
One is a circuit breaker box for garage electricals, and the one of the right is I dunno. It has a transformer block sticking out, so I can't make a cover for it. It just sits there exposed.
What is that transformer box for? Is it dangerous to leave it exposed like that?
Also, there is a twisted strand ground wire going from the bottom of the breaker box directly to the outside, into the dirt.
Is that dangerous to leave it exposed like that too?
I would think that the Bare wire outside would be going to a ground rod from the panel n the left. See if you can verify this.
Dig a trench 2"-3" to bury the wire (there probably isn't enough bare there to dig very deep, but it doesn't need to be).
The ideal method would be to run the bare in 1" conduit above ground, and strapped to the building.
Installation is the Reverse of Removal.
