i have a wire coming out of a junction box going to an outside light then a wire from outside light going to a switch below it to turn it on an off if switch is in off position is the power off going back to light or is there still power coming from junction box thank u

want to put junction box in between light and switch with out having to turn off main power to garage

Why not just use the junction boxes that are there?

junction box that is there has to many wires already would like to install new one for future use if need b

You have a switch loop. The power is never completely off in any of the boxes. Only the black wire coming back from the switch goes on and off. The rest of the black wires in the light box and the white wire in the switch box are always live.
