electrical


I have a chandelier with 4 wires brown,black and blue plus another with green and yellow. How do I wire this to the box with a black and white plus the bare ground wire. I am confused about thw 4 colored wires wgich one to connect to .

Are you from Europe or middle east? Those colors are not common in the states but the best would be take a tester and see which are hot,neutral, and switch leg. The way I've seen is brown being power, black as switch leg, and blue neutral, green - ground. But again each situation will vary.

I agree with julius....most likely UK

Your green/yellow WILL be your earth ground....that connects to the bare copper wire.
Blue 'should' be neutral and will connect to the neutral white wire.
Black and brown....those should be hot....but the existance of two of them implies that you have two differnt ckts in the light....

Like Juluis said...get a tester (ohm meter) and ohm it out.
