electric receptacle behind shower

I`m remodeling an old bedroom into a bathroom.Putting in a acrylic shower in,behind the back of where the shower will be there is a receptacle on the opposite wall(faceing other room),should I remove this before I put the shower in? it is over about 2 feet from where the water lines will come up thru.
