Electric Motor hook up

Should be simple but ...! I have changed a 1/4 hp motor to a 1/2 motor. the basic wiring on the old oneworked but didn't have the ground connected. Anyway, on a 110 (115) volt motor the wiring shows Red & Orange linked together in a line drawing with #1 at the end of the line and "Lead 1" after the number one. Below that it shows White linked the Black in a line drawing with #4 at the end of the line and the words "Line 2" following.
Most wires I've worked with (110) 14/2 are black & white with green ground.
What do I connect to what?
Thanks.

Electric Motor hook up

Connect one lead to line 1 and one lead to line 2. Doesn't matter which color.
