Electric Furnace controls
I need to connect a second fan relay to control the Chromalox furnace fan to "low" speed with the first element, and then "med", and "high" speed as the three elements are sequenced on. I need a wiring diagram of instructions on how to do this.
Do you have the diagram for the furnace? Maybe inside an access door or cover?
Is this something the manufacturer sells or requires. Wihout a diagram or a look at what your plans are, it would be impossible to help you here.
If it is just a simple control project, some more info would really help. Are you familiar with control wiring? If not, get experienced help.
ps.....get all the furnace specs and Google the specs. You should b able to get an online manual with drawings in a PDF format.
I don't mean to threadjack in any way, but: In general, is there a book on wiring up heating and AC controls? (furnaces, boilers, ACs, heatpumps, zone valves, etc.) I imagine not because much of the equipment differs per manufacturer.
Just thought it didn't hurt to ask...
You are correct regarding differences regarding products. But control wiring is control wiring. If someone understands control circuits they can pull every wire out of any piece of equipment and rewire it from scratch.
When I was working in manufacturing, many times it was much easier to strip out the machine, draw your own schematic and rewire it.
This is one of my specialties.
Tell me what you want it to do, I draw the schematic and implement it. Very gratifying to see you system work as intended.
