Electric Baseboard Heater

I need to replace a 96", 240 volt, 650 watt electric baseboard heater (no brand name evident) in a rental property. I've looked in stores and on-line and cannot find an equivalent unit--most heaters that long are ~2000 watts. I've got a 15amp circuit breaker on the line and don't know if I can put any heavier load on it. Thus, my questions: Are heaters still made that are equivalent to the one that's in there? If so, any idea where I can find one? If such a unit is not available, do I dare install a 2000 watt unit?

Thanks!

If its a 240v then a 2000w heater is not an issue

connect it to 120 Volts, then you'll get 500 watts out of it ...

amazon and bizrate both have 500w and 750w 240v electric baseboard heaters
