I have a 30amp 125volt rv outlet that was already wired in when we bought the house but everytime i plug my rv in it trips the breaker.but the rv works fine at camp sites and on a extension cord to a reg 15amp outlet.how should i check the circuit help please

Edc.,

The 120V 30 amp RV plug should have proper connection.

Let me paste the photo here it will be little big but it is very clear you can not miss this one.




Before you work on this one turn off the breaker to this plug before you do anything and double check the connection I have a feeling you may have reversed one of the connections.

I would examine the receptacle to check all the connections. You might have a ground close to a hot wire or screw.

thanks again your right they had wired it incorrectly and labled the outlet backwords from your pic i should have expected that
