We have two dusk to dawn security lights that will not turn off. We lost power a few days ago and ever since.....they will not turn off. We have briefly cut the power to both units and they will come right back on in about 4 minutes regardless of how much sun we have. These units are on two separate buildings, several yards apart. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Do you know exactly what part is the sensor? Make sure it is not covered with dirt.
There may be a screwdriver adjustment to tell how bright the surroundings must get to turn off the light. It is usually not instant-acting, you may have to wait up to two minutes before the light actually goes out in response to a change you make.
If this doesn't work you may have to replace the sensor, possibly requiring replacing the entire fixture.
States can help recovery from hurricanes and tornadoes by not requiring due digence or prompt and timely correction of substandard conditions, and by providing continued liability insurance where companies drop homeowners.
