Question

Dual Fuel Range Elec Hookup

I am installing a dual fuel slide-in stove with an electric/convection oven that
will pull a maximum of: 3.0 klw = 3000 watts
divided by 240 volts = 13 amps

The NEC codes specify a minimum 40AMP circuit with 8/3 wire for stoves

Will a 40 AMP 8/3 wire be appropriate or is a smaller circuit/wire required
The local codes are not specific on this setup

What is the make and model? Here is the specs of a similiar model, with similair KW http://www.kitchenaid.com/catalog/pr...productId=1207 which require 8/3 w/ground. If you can find out what it is exactly just google it, they post most specs/manuals online, if you wanna be sure.

Dual Fuel Range Elec Hookup

Last dual fuel range I wired for required only a 20A circuit and had a standard 15A plug. The 40A minimum only applies if the range rating is 8KW or more.
