dryer receptical

I need to run a receptical for my dryer. I have left over 6/3 from my stove which is overkill but will save me from buying 10/3. The dryer is located in the basement. My question is do I need to run conduit the vertical length from the floor joists down the foundation wall to the receptical or can I attach a board to the wall and then staple the cable to the board?

thanks!

Attached to a furring strip should be fine.

you have 6/3 what? and just to be sure, it is 6/3 plus ground, right?

Also make a note on the 16mmX3 conductor that is used for dryer so in case someone else don't get this mixed up with range or other hevey circuit.

Merci.

You will also have to check the lugs on the dryer plug to make sure they can handle #6 wire, if they can't you could make a joint and bring it down to #10 at the box but that will fill your box up very fast.
