Dryer Hookup (220v, 30 amp, 4-wire)
To meet NEC specifications:
1. Does the 220v cable have to be a continuous run from panel to outlet or is it okay to have an intermediate jbox. I accidentally cut the cable sheath and instead of running a new cable from panel to outlet, I added an intermediate jbox 6 ft away from the outlet and ran a new cable from the new jbox to the outlet.
2. Can the intermediate jbox be plastic?
3. The builder did not run a ground wire from the cable ground to the steel outlet box like all of the 120v boxes. Is this okay? If yes, why?
Thank you for your help.
3. no. It must be bonded because it is metal.
