Dryer Hookup (220v, 30 amp, 4-wire)
To meet NEC specifications:
1. Does the 220v cable have to be a continuous run from panel to outlet or is it okay to have an intermediate jbox. I accidentally cut the cable sheath and instead of running a new cable from panel to outlet, I added an intermediate jbox 6 ft away from the outlet and ran a new cable from the new jbox to the outlet. 2. Can the intermediate jbox be plastic? 3. The builder did not run a ground wire from the cable ground to the steel outlet box like all of the 120v boxes. Is this okay? If yes, why? Thank you for your help. |
1. no
2. yes 3. no. It must be bonded because it is metal. |
