Dryer blowing fuses...?

My parents have a dryer that is about 8 years old, lately every now and again it will blow the fuses in the sub-panel. Then it will go for weeks without anything going wrong, any ideas?
Thanks for any info!

Dryer blowing fuses...?

What size fuse, what is the rating of the dryer?? Fuses should be about 125% of the dryer rating, but not more that is allowed for wire size. I would suspect that heater coils are about to go, or coils may be loose and occasionally touch.

Fuses? You should know that those old style fuse boxes are obsolete, and subject to wear. Once those internal connections begin to wear out and loosen up, fuses can get extra hot and nuisance blowing can occur like you have experienced. Especially on high amperage circuits like a dryer or water heater.

Best thing to do is consider installing a new breaker panel, and modernizing your electrical equipment.
