Anywhere you want, just avoid the dryer duct. A stacked unit may require the receptacle be higher than normal.

Is your dryer located outside? Sitting on dirt?

I've seen many installations where the dryer outlet is mounted on the floor!

Just ensure that the cord will reach the outlet! :whistling2:

Not really. Unless you are in a flood plain, then the rules are changed.

Wouldn't that put it above some dryers?

Code reference?

He wasn't stating a code, just an opinion, I put them at that height at times.

I put dryer outlets at 48", right next to the washer outlet. And I also center it at 30" from the wall, a typical dryer is 28" wide, this way the cord is not jammed behind the dryer.

I also box out the stud bay behind the center of the dryer, from the floor to about 1' or so, this is where the vent is stubbed. This way the hose can be recessed in the wall and the dryer can be pushed all the way back to the wall.
