Double combination switch not turning on lights
So I am replacing a double combination switch in my bathroom. I have two lights and want to have each switch control each light. I have the black (hot) attached to bottom common screw and each black from the lights attached on the other side and I have no light. The black to power the switches is coming from a receptacle plug and everything is on the same circuit. No light!!

The weird thing is when I put the hot wire on one of the screws where the light fixture wire should be and the lights connected to the common connectors, both lights come on from one switch. (the opposite lf what i am instructed to do) So I am lost. I know I am doing something wrong. Any help would be great.

Sounds like you have not identified the common screw properly. The common screw is often two screws right beside each other. There is a metal jumper between them. The switched outputs are two separate screws.
Or maybe you not identified the hot wire correctly.

There are two common screws. If only using one hot wire, does it matter?

Is the bridge still intact between the 2 screws?

I'm an idiot. Should have checked the nuetral wires. One was not connected in the chain.
