In Door Ice Maker Repair

My Whirlpool Model MGR 2220398 - In Door Ice Maker has stopped making ice. The water dispenser is working. (Whirlpool Refrigerator Model ED5SHAXM010.) I checked the optic boards, and they are fine. How can I find and fix the problem?

First determine if it is cycling and trying to fill the ice maker with water every so often.

If not, get the electrical schematics from the manufacturer and use a multimeter to troubleshoot the problem.

If the water solenoid is activating every so often, then check to be sure water can come out of the opening. Is the output frozen? Or it could be a clogged solenoid. Is there a filter before the solenoid? Clean the lines if that is the problem.

If you don't know how to troubleshoot plumbing or electrical problems, call a repairman.

And before doing that, read the instruction manual for the refrigerator. be sure the ice maker is "on" if there are any switches. And try any troubleshooting suggestions in the manual.
