Door Bell Wired to Light Switch

I have run into a unique problem with the way the door bell was wired in our house. It only works when the kitchen lights are turned on. Apparently the builder somehow wired the door bell to the light. I tried looking at the way the switch was wired, but I did not see an extra wire that would suggest that the door bell was also wired to the switch. Equally annoying is the fact that the dishwasher is also connected to a switch. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Door Bell Wired to Light Switch

Find the door bell transformer. That is where you need to fix the wiring issue. It is likely attached to the fixture box where that switch has control.

This^

It may also be connected to a random splice box somewhere in the attic or basement. Whoever installed the doorbell transformer may have saw the splice box and installed the transformer there not knowing that the circuit is switched.

It's easy to find the transformer, it'll be sticking out of the side of an electrical box.

The door bell transformer is wired into the circuit on the switched side of the circuit. You need to find the transformer ... then wire it into constant power somewhere in the branch circuit. May have to change it's location entirely...or redo the doorbell circuit.
