Does This Make Sense To You?

I didn't expect this when I posted this thread! Please allow me a moment to explain.

I didn't mean any disrespect to the electrician by posting the pictures online...I just didn't want to have to explain myself a bunch of times if I didn't describe the problem correctly. The first question was just to see if this is a major thing since the furnace is one of the most important pieces of electrical equipment in my house, or if it would be a nit-picky thing to call him back about. If I didn't have respect for the guy, I wouldn't have even posted, I would have called him not caring if I was nit picking. The second question was for my own curiosity sake. I always read a lot on here, especially in the electrical forum, and two things that still confuse me are neutral-gound bonding and the potential balancing function of the neutral wire on a branched circuit. So I asked.

And contrary to the popular opinion here, I actually really liked the guy. I had a recessed meter and the city wanted to change it so I dug the hole and he co-ordinated everything with the disconnect. I told him I was interested in what he was doing...the few times I came down to chat with him he talked my ear off about what he was doing and other electrical knowledge. He told me about the apprenticeship program and complimented me on a 20A GFI circuit I had run from my laundry tub area to the back of the old panel. We decided to move my panel to another wall so he wouldn't have to junction as many wires. We talked about my plans to run an outside lighting circuit from my outdoor receptacle, he gave me some advice on that and told me about the part of the code that had changed where an outside receptacle now requires a dome cover. I offered him pop and to buy him and his apprentice some lunch, and he even did a little dance when he put the main breaker on for the first time and everything was right.

I apologize for rubbing some people the wrong way and committing the faux pas of posting the pictures. I will keep these things in mind with future posts here.

What disrespect? You had some questions and you asked them. How else would anyone learn if they don't ask. This is a DIY room for people like you and me to ask and learn. You posting here with pics is the reason this room exists. I hope you got your answer.
