Disconnect for AC GFCI?


Does a circuit that is dedicated for a AC compressor have to be on a GFCI circuit?

Disconnect for AC GFCI?


NO..... not for the compressor circuit..... but it is required to have a maintenance disconnect outside near the unit condenser. And also a 120 volt GFCI service receptacle close by.

This is a good option if you need both...note that a seperate circuit must be run to the 120 volt gfci receptacle.



This image below shows the required receptacle and you can also see the required A/C disconnect mounted to the side of the house.
