Dimmer switch quit working

Hello, I'm new around here and hoping someone can help.

Just bought my first condo and no longer have a maintainance person to call for this stuff.

I have a switch plate in my bathroom with 3 switches. Two are regular 'toggle-style' switches. The other is a round 'dial-style' dimmer switch for a set of 4 halogen lights above the vanity area. The dimmer switch has just quit working....The light are off and i can't turn them on. The other two switches work fine (fan and shower light).

Does anyone out there have an explanation or tips on how to investigate and fix this problem?

Some dimmer switches are the "push in" to turn on and off. Have you tried that?

If Househelpers suggestion is not the issue, just go buy a new dimmer switch. Since you have 3 switches in this box. Please make sure you mark them (wires) and write down where they go. We have had way to many folks turn a small project like this turn into a problem. It only takes a few minutes to make sure you can hook it back up correctly.

J.V. is right that you might need to get a new dimmer switch. Make sure you cut the power off before you do any work on the switches.

Its definately not that it is or isn't pushed in (tried that).
