Question

dimmer switch to duplex receptacle

Can a dimmer switch be used to control a duplex receptacle? I want to be able to control indirect lighting in my kitchen by plugging in two different light sources into a duplex receptacle and then control them with a dimmer switch (which controls the receptacle). Is this safe?
Thx, John

No. Code does not allow receptacles to be dimmed.
