Dimmer switch burned out my fan lights??
Hello all,
About 4 months ago I replaced a fan/light combo in a bed room. The fan and light are on different switches, and the light has a dimmer switch. Just yesterday I noticed that the lights no longer worked. Troubleshooting revealed no obvious problems. Bulbs are good and the switch is getting power (~110VAC). I did notice that dimming or flipping the switch did not affect the voltage across any combination of the 3 wires on the switch. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I would expect something to change by manipulating the dimmer or the switch. Anyway, is it possible that the dimmer somehow damaged the electronics for the lights? Any other ideas as to the possible cause of the problem? Thanks for your time and your help! Dan |

Bad dimmer most likely. Try a regular switch as a test.
The lamps aren't CFLs are they?
