I just installed a GE Sunsmart Digital Timer that I want to use as a timer for a whole house attic fan. I can't use a preset program as windows or doors must be open when the fan is on.
I want to simply set a time (one hour, etc.) and have the fan run for that time and then shut off after the set time period. The instructions don't say how you can do this. The Home Depot employee and the electrician that installed the timer both said it could be used as a simple timer but I can't figure out how to do it.
That's the wrong type of timer. You want one that only runs a set LENGTH of time, not starts/stops at a given time.
How about replacing it with the old style "windup" mechanical or the newer electronic touch version.
