Define conduit hanger

I started running the pvc conduit for my subpanel. The question is what qualifies as a conduit hanger? Its not feasable for about 15 feet for me to use conduit clamps but the only solution for the 15 feet is metal strap like plumbers use for hanging pipe. Is this against code? The conduit is 1"pvc hung horizontally in a hard to access area between 2 ducts.

Also where the conduit enters the load center, i had to use a metal lock nut on a pvc fitting because the store didnt have any pvc ones. is this ok?

Thanks

I am no electrician, but I always use metal locknuts on PVC male adapters.

And I can't see a problem using metal straps to hang conduit. If you're worried, use plastic strapping, should be right next to the metal stuff.

That metal strap will work fine.

metal locknuts are what you use

to the strap; I am sure I could find you a proper hanger. The plumbers strap will likely be ok unless you have a real hardcore inspector. He could shoot it down as it is not "listed for the purpose" and in a real strict definition, that purpose would be to hang electrical conduit.

what you could do it attach a "minnie" to the strap and attach the strap up wherever you are planning on attaching it.

there are many other possibilities as well.
