Okay, I'm not a novice, but I'm no electrician. I would say I have medium skills.
Here's the deal:
I have a 20 amp circuit that leads to (in this order) the dishwasher, one outlet (not used) an over the sink light, and another outlet (coffee pot and toaster oven). I ran these lines about 2 months ago and all worked fine up until recently.
Suddenly, the power to this circuit keeps dying and the breaker is not tripping. I flip the breaker just for good measure and nothing.
I mean it just dies. It's not when we are using any of the appliances so I don't get it. If I turned on the dishwasher and I killed it, I might understand a little better.
Last weekend, I pulled the dishwasher out to start to try to figure out what was going on. I unplugged it and things started working again. I changed the DW plug thinking it was bad (it is not hard wired).
Is the breaker going bad? Is there an amerage problem with the outlet or the plug??
Any thoughts? THANKS!
