Cutting Flex

What's the best way on cutting 1/2 and 3/4 Flex Metal.
I'm doing ~okay~ with a hacksaw. Might just grab the grinder....

add about 8 inches to how much you need and cut it completely. then take the flex and bend it hard at the legth you need to go in the connector. it will seperate itself a little. take your dykes(snips) and cut the flex where it has became a single strip. with the dykes push the jagged edge back in line with the rest of the flex. use the little red wire protectors that came with the flex and push into connector.

A hack saw or grinder is going to leave burrs.
You are using a plastic insert, right?

the above advice is for flex containing wire in it. if it doesn't contain wire i use my bandsaw.

That^^^^

Me being the cheap ba$tard I am, I hate wasting material....so I cut it once to length using a sawzall....

But as buddy noted....make sure you use the red wire protectors....otherwise your going to be replacing wire when you don't want to....

The size of 1/2 + will not fit a roto split....

Bushing everytime. Who doesn't use a bushing..

If you have a bunch of cuts to do, grab a cutter, avail at BORG, and other big boxes, and hardware stores.

If this MC doesn't have wire in it already, get out the cutting torch!

Always use bushings (red heads)

Nevermind. Found a cutter that will handle 1/2 and 3/4 FLEX....
It's a much bigger beast than the normal BX roto split ya'll are thinking...

MC always contains conductors.
