Crazy light

What is going on when i plug up a eight foot fluorescent light the radio in my shop goes off station with a lot of buzzing in the speakers no matter what station u put it on still the same. The light is new and i even changed ballest i know theres something going on there just cant figure it out. I have more than this one light in our shop everything else is fine. I've never seen anything like this before. Plug it up, radio goes crazy, you got me. This is a great site for all of us out there who just want to know how things work. Keep up the good work guys. Your never to old to learn.

It could be from an open ground on the circuit,

but I would venture the radio is on the same circuit as the light and you are getting interference off the neutral.

Your AHJ/Inspectors ALWAYS have the final say on ANY electrical code issue.
If in doubt, contact a licensed, experienced, reputable electrician to perform the work.

Electric Ballast emit noise that intefere with radio signals.
Adding an external fm antenna may help.
