Correct way to wire electrical relay ?

Hi,

I want to install a low voltage thermostat to control a fan-forced heater (5000W). I will need to install a relay and I wanted to make sure my wiring is correct.

I will go with the following relay:
Product page: http://www.aubetech.com/products/pro...=42&noLangue=2
Install manual: http://www.aubetech.com/manuel/2/RC840T.pdf

Here's my wiring diagram:

Based on the manual link you have it wrong. You need to swap the blue and red wires coming out of the stat. The blue and black need to go to the line coming in.

Your wiring will cause a dead short across the incoming power when the thermostat turns on. Not good - will probably kill the relay. Switch blue and red, as joed says.

connect one line feed thru the N.O. contacts on that relay so the stat closes that N.O. to cycle the heater
