copper or aluminium wire

hi again

i wanted some comments or advice on using copper or aluminium wire.im going from a pole mounted main panel to a sub panel in my work shop. it will be under ground in a conduit. it will have a max load of 50amps..a continuas load of 25 amps. i was going to use 6-3 copper. local place where i get wire told me it would be cheaper to go with aluminium wire.he said use #4 urd . all the research ive done. seems to say stay away from aluminium wire thanks for any help

There is nothing at all negative with respect to using Aluminum as SERVICE cable, providing the termination lugs are rated for it, and it is done properly.
I'm not a fan of direct burial cable....you would be much better of, especially in the long run of using conduit (PVC if approved for your area), then pulling individual conductors.
