Converting plug-in pendant lamp to wired from electrical box. Need Help!
Hi,
I bought a pendant lamp that is originally a plug-in. I'd like to install the lamp on the electrical box that is already in the room. I know that the ribbed cable would be the one to hook up to the white cable in the box, and the other to the black.
My question is - what do I do about grounding the lamp? Being that it is originally a plug-in lamp, it does not have a ground wire to attach to the box. I'm not an electrician, but I've installed many light fixtures - none of which were converted. I'm confident with everything else, but I'm not sure whether installing without a ground wire is a good idea.
Thanks in advance
