Converting Gas Stove to an Electric Stove?

I'm have been using propane gas for hot water heater and stove up until now, but I'm changing to an electric hot water heater, and don't really have the money to purchase a new stove right now. Can anyone tell me how expensive and complicated it it might be to convert a gas stove to electric??? I have to make a decision asap, so any help with this would be Great!

Converting Gas Stove to an Electric Stove?

How far is it from the breaker panel to the stove location?
Basement? Crawlspace? Access to run wire?
Available space in main panel?

Converting Gas Stove to an Electric Stove?

$300 for a new stove, another $300 or so for Electric work, so rough guess $6-700.

Ayuh,... My guess is, it would cost about 3 times the price of a new electric stove....

And it would cost 10-20 times more than the cost of a used electric stove.

In all seriousness, you can get a used electric stove for $50 around here, free if your patient and can deal with avacado green.
The expense will be the wire, if your stove is close to your breaker box and you have two open slots your in luck.
Still expect to spend 50-100 in electrical supplies.

If your looking for a cheap workaround get an electric griddle and an oversized toaster oven. Both those run off a standard outlet.

No,jbfan, NOT a joke , though I wish it was!

Thanks so much! Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but kind of expected as much. Needed some direction with this, and REALLY appreciate the advice!

Scuba_Dave, I'm located in Alabama.
