New wiring is somtimes required. But if the house has conduit or box style wiring the outlet box will generally already be grounded. After installed o outlet tester will reveal if it is properly grounded. Or you can check with a test light from the power side of the out let to the center screw on your present outlet. If it lights the box is generally properly grounded. Then you could just change out the outlet. The new one will ground threw the mounting screws to the box. If not you will need to some how run a ground circuit to the box.
