Any ideas on converting a 2-pin fluorescent lamp socket to incandescent screw-type? I looked at the thread here that had to do with doing the same thing with can lights and my question wasn't answered. I am trying not to throw out my Tensor Lamp just because its ballast crapped out. I know I could make it work by exchanging the ballast with a regular plug and putting a screw-type base in the top of the fixture, and use a CFL so that I don't exceed temperature limits. BUT, the problem is attaching the base where the 2-pin socket was, since there is only the two usual pillars into which to screw down the old socket. I hate to throw things out - anyone got an idea?
Words of wisdom! Actually, I won't feel bad, because now I feel like I did what I could. Thanks much!
We have to throw away the "throwaway" idea! But the price on that Chinese crap is just too darn tempting!
