Continuing a bedroom single pole switch/light to a closet single pole switch/light

Hey everyone,

I am doing some wiring in an attic/room conversion. I am running wire into a single pole switch to control the bedroom lights. I would like to continue the run off of the light to another single pole switch that controls a closet light. I have included a wiring diagram from a book that shows a scenario of adding a receptacle to the end of a single pole switch/light run. Can I substitute the receptacle in this picture for another single pole switch/light?

Yes and no. You can continue the circuit to the closet switch, however, you cannot wire a switch like a receptacle.

Be aware, there are strict codes on what type of fixture can be placed how close to anything flammable in a clothes closet.

Thanks for the quick response. So instead of the receptacle, I could put in a switch (using the ground and hot wire), connect the neutral wire to the neutral wire going to the light?
