Connecting loop system to new 3 wire light

Hi I purchased a new light today and when i went to install it there are just the three wires (blue, brown and earth). but when i dismantled the old light fitting there were 9 wires (3 sets of 3) all black and red. i realise this is a loop system but how do go about putting 9 thick wires into a 3 wire connecter ( one of the wires is black with a red sleeve i take it this is the live switch feed scratching my head on this one .
thx
paul

This is where buying some chocablock (insulated terminal strip) comes into its own!

Buy some large enough to accomodate the loop wires and the new ones for your light fitting.

There should be enough room in the base of the light fitting to tuck the whole lot away, be careful that you don't put any fixing screws through these wires!
