comerical lighting master-slave ballast 277v


I am in a old building which has master slave ballast system which i am not familiar with, they are wanting to which lighting over to T-8 from T-12. What is the procedure can any one please help.

What is a master slave ballast system? I have not heard of this.

it is where there are two fixtures with a ballast in only one of them that drives all of the lights on the two fixtures.

but anyway, this sounds like a commercial project, not DIY.

I have not heard the term master slave for that setup, we have a whole building wired like that.
You wire them according to the drawing on the new ballast. The T12s will have two wires from each tombstone. Nut them together into one for the new T8 connections. We do it all the time as the T12 burn out and we replace them with T8s. Just make sure you properly identify the common set of wires that goes to both lamps. The standard colours for T12 are not the same as the standard for T8 so the colours will not match up.

comerical lighting master-slave ballast 277v


The 277 volts system is not for the DIY there is too many issue will arise and the best move is get a electrician to deal with it due it is a commercal voltage.
