combo heat lamp/exhaust dying

I discussed previously how surprised I was to see heat lights in Florida. Also that one exhaust fan wasn't working.

Now, after spending more time in this newly purchased house I realize I have combo heat light & exhaust.

The 2nd one is terribly noisy like a Boeing 747 landing. The house is 29 yrs old so I think these are original.

I plan to measure the openings, buy 2 exhaust (skipping the heat lights) and have an electrician install them.

Am I going to run into too many selections? Is there anything special to look for when buying exhaust fans? thanks

Should be an easy switch out. Regardless I'm sure you will have to patch.

I'm not sure you will even have to patch. Many fans that were produced 30 years ago, are still being produced (with some minor design changes) today. Look for a model number inside the housing.
