Color Code 12/2 wire help


I have this wire: , but the only difference is, mine is a light blue, but it is still 12/2 600 volts. What is the difference?

Color Code 12/2 wire help


Does your wire say it is NM-B? It will be printed on the sheathing and the package.

yes, seems to have the same ratings, etc, as the yellow wire, just wondering, if the color had anything to do with the code?

The Code does not mandate any color scheme for the outer jackets of type NM cables.

Color Code 12/2 wire help


I was told in canada the blue cable is generally used for AFCI bedroom circuits but its not code or anything..just a way to try and get you to buy more wire :P
