code compliance - metallic raceway

i need to (for practical installation reason) run a few feet of wire on the wall surface to a surface-mounted outlet box. this in a dry living space.

the question is-- is it code-compliant to run a romex (14avg) in a metallic raceway (or channel), similar to sold at HD under the name: wiremold/legrand?

the manufacturer product picture shows this raceway being used for surface-mounted outlet but does not say what kind of wire/cable is required

I doubt you will fit romex inside wiremold.
