code for can lighting/insulation in basement ceiling joists

Hey guys --
Have a question on what the CODE is for installing can lighting and insulation in basement ceiling. We are using faced R-19 insulation in the joists, and 6" I/C new construction can lighting, that comes prewired with housing/baffle trim, and is thermally protected, and damp location approved. Saw something on Holmes on Homes where they said insulation can't be around it. I am stopping it at the joist hanger. Am I within CODE or do I need to do something different.
