Clarke SE 160/50 Air Compressor

I have a Clarke SE 160/50 Single Phase Air Compressor, it has never been used, when we came to wire it we found it had a faulty capacitor we then contacted clarke International and were sent a new capacitor, the capacitor arrived and we have installled it. however the compressor runs in reverse which is technically impossible on single phase electricity.

Anybody got a wiring Diagram or have the Answer to this wierd problem.

Why is it impossible for a single phase motor to run in two directions? If the motor leads are numbered swap #5 and #8.
If they are color coded swap Black and red.
