christmas tree angel
We have an antique angel for the top of the Christmas tree. She moves her wings and arm in which she holds a candle. In use, the candle plus a string of eight other trpical tree lights, partially concealed around the base area, light up. The moter for the animation and the string of lights are connected in parallel. This year the animation worked fine, but the lights refused to light. The bulbs and the fuse in the string were checked. Big question: How can one of these two functions, powered by the same elec. cord, work and the other doesn't?
The problem is not with the cord going to the wall recepticle.
Below is a post of a different system, but it may serve to help explain.
Pretend that your cord is the wires between the switches and the first light. Next pretend that the parts that are working are represented by the first light. Now pretend that the parts that are not working are represented by the other lights.
The circuit is open somewhere after the first light, but before the second light.
