Changing a hardwire ceiling fixture to plug in
I am wondering how to convert a hardwire ceiling light to a plug in. My prior experience is limited to attaching a socket to a wire (that already had a wall plug attached) and used a contemporary-print shade to make a plug in hanging light. The outcome is great, but I'd like to use another style elsewhere (especially the glass shades).
Thanks for the help! |

Changing a hardwire ceiling fixture to plug in
it would be a matter of installing a power cord, preferrably a 3 wire 16 ga would be sufficient for 60w. but this connection should be made inside a junction box, it can be the shallow variety (1/2" deep). but, then there is the matter of being code compliant, there i don't know.
