CFL's 4 for 97 cents at Lowes

Was at Lowes yesterday and seen they had a special on Eco Smart CFL's for $.97 per 4-pack with a 25 pack maximum... Not sure if all the Lowes are offering this loss leader or not, but wanted to throw it out there for anyone looking to stock up

Just bought an 8 pack of 60 watt equivalent CFLs at Sams Club in North Charleston for $2.98 (37 cents each). Not as good as the OP but I though a pretty good price. They are dimmable.

Sorry, I misspoke, they are not dimmable. They are GE 13 watt (60 watt replacement), 825 lumens.

Are you positive it was Lowes ? EcoSmart used to be exclusive to Home Depot.

Either way, I doubt it was a loss leader for the store. That type of pricing is usually subsidized by a local utility company to encourage CFL use.

The Menards in town here has had them (4 packs of 13 watt cfl's) for $0.99 for the last year now. I used to grab one every time I was there...now I have a stack of them in the basement. I haven't had any issues with longevity or quality as of yet.

I have found the CFLs to be crap, as they age warm up has been a PIA and the disposal issues are always present.
