CFL light sockets
Sorry if this not worded correctly as I have no electrical background-The balcony light fixture in my condo was changed to take one of those 2 pin CFL lightbulbs. This has created a problem for me at CHristmas time because I used to use that fixture to conect my Christmas lights. How and is it even possible to change this fixture back to take an incandescent bulb.?
The two pin socket indicates this isn't a self-ballasted lamp (the screw-in type spiral ones are self ballasted), meaning that the power first goes to a ballast, and converts it to a much higher voltage to drive that 2-pin lamp. In other words, there's no way to use that for your christmas lights.
So, I guess to answer your question, it is possible to change the fixture back to accept an incandecent bulb, you just have to change to whole fixture!
