Cfl glowing pink

I've had this clf light in my bathroom for about a year now. Everytime I turn it on, it glows pink for about 15 seconds, then gets brighter. It never used to do this

Cfl glowing pink

The electronics in the base are going bad. Usually after they start glowing pink, not soon after they decide to go out. Either with a puff of smoke, or a flame shooting out at one side of the glass coming out of the base.

Ren: Now listen, Cadet. I've got a job for you. See this button? Ren: Don't touch it! It's the History Eraser button, you fool! Stimpy: So what'll happen? Ren: That's just it. We don't know. Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?

Cfl glowing pink

It only really does it when it's cold out. The attic is above and makes the light in the exhaust fan cold. I have a cfl outside and it's just dim on start up when it's cold. The one in the bathroom is a dim pink when it's cold. Once it's warmed up, it's a bright white. I read somewhere that is was a lack of free mercury and that this should go away with use but it just now started doing this

the cfl is just wear out or it is a brand that doesn't like cold, just change the cfl
i change mine once every 1-2 years (of course when they don't work anymore)
