Central vacuum wiring

Our new home is roughed in for the central vacuum. The low voltage wires come out with 'U' shape (the bottom of 'U' outside)
from the hole where the connector is to be connected. I don't
know how the connection can be made. Should I cut the wire?

Depends on the system. Can you take a pic of the wires and also what the connectors/plates look like? Even a link or name of the system you are using would help.

Not all rough-in plates are the same. What brand was used for the rough-in?

Answers based on the 2008 & 2011 NEC. If you're on the '14 already I feel sorry for you.
